According to the Mushroom Council, September is National Mushroom Month. There are numerous varieties of nutritious mushrooms and endless way of preparing them.
Mushrooms are very low in calories with less than 50 per cup. They are almost fat and sodium-free and contain no cholesterol. They are also a good source of protein, fiber, vitamin C and iron.
Mushrooms also contain folate, zinc and selenium which are known for anti-inflammatory results in patients.
